Louise Law

Born in Yorkshire and raised everywhere, Louise graduated from Sussex in Philosophy & Literature, and, at UEA, gained an MA in Modern Fiction, the highly prestigious course created by Malcom Bradbury. There she also wrote monthly literary reviews for UEA News, the magazine Bradbury edited, and, for two years, represented UEA as their PR Officer. In 1993, she won the Poetry Society’s competition, and was published in their anthology Poetry Now. With a wide experience of the world of work, (previous jobs include waitressing and restaurant managing, as well as a stint at PA work for the Director of a well know merchant bank, and a few months as the sole female member of the sketch group The Ornate Johnsons), she is currently Head of English at a Surrey secondary school, constantly teaching an enormous variety of writing and poetry, and constantly writing her own (to inflict, as she says, on her captive classroom audience). ‘Mississppi, Worthing’ is her first work for the stage.
