A long, dark night, a telephone, faceless voices in the ether… But there\u2019s a hapless helper at the end of the line. A solitary soul struggles to lend life support to the needy over a very crowded night. By the wee small hours, she’s starting to see the light…<\/p>\n

Following a sell-out run and critical acclaim at Brighton Fringe, Kilbey\u2019s self-penned, blackly comic solo show is set to hit the road.<\/p>\n

Inspired by Emma\u2019s life-enhancing, challenging, moving and absurd time as a Samaritan, this darkly wry and deeply human look at living close to the edge follows the fortunes of a woman who seems to be struggling to save the only life she can.<\/p>\n

Emma Kilbey is a woman of varied talents with notable achievements in many aspects of theatre. As well as an extensive cv as an actor, she also directed the award-winning shows ‘Steal Compass, Drive North, Disappear’ and ‘The Growing Room’ (both for Stillpoint Theatre<\/a>) and David Bramwell’s ‘The No. 9 Bus to Utopia’<\/a>, and co-founded the acclaimed comedy group Radio City Theatre<\/a>. ‘Shift’, her first solo show, is ideally suited to rural touring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
