She toured and sang around the UK in the show \u2018Jacques Brel: Alive and Well and Living in Paris\u2019 and carried a coffin in Don Boyd\u2019s controversial 1974 film<em> \u2018<\/em>Intimate Reflections\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In more recent years Eliza has been commissioned to write original songs for the stage show version of the children\u2019s TV programme \u2018Rainbow\u2019, acted as assistant MD for productions of modern musicals \u2018The Ministry of Biscuits\u2019 and \u2018The Opinion Makers\u2019<em> <\/em>and<em> <\/em>programmed and performed the first amplified musical performance in the historical Brighton Pavilion for her acclaimed show \u2018Musica Pappilio\u2019 for White Nights. She now juggles music with writing, film making and performing in a multitude of guises.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013 she and guitarist Paul Simmons released the album \u20181906\u2019 from their brainchild band <strong>The Desperate Ones <\/strong>(nominated for Best Music Act, Brighton May Festival) which has been described as \u2018punk rock scholars dreaming of twangy desert landscapes from English treehouses.\u2019 \u00a0(the album can be downloaded at\u00a0http:\/\/thedesperateones.bandcamp.com\/album\/1906 )<\/p>\n<p>2013 also saw the release of her first short film \u2018The Guest\u2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/The-GUEST\/156033731261912\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/The-GUEST\/156033731261912<\/a>) which is currently being shown at a number of film festivals around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>She performs with Jane Bom-Bane and fellow Foundry Group artist Emma Kilbey in the a capella \/ madrigal folk trio <strong>The Silver Swans, <\/strong>devises vocal and musical arrangements to sing with swing vocal group<strong> The Velvettes, <\/strong>and<strong> <\/strong>along with David Bramwell co-hosts the show <strong>Sing-A-Long-A-Wicker-Man <\/strong>as well as playing in his band<strong> Oddfellows Casino.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She is currently head of music at Arabesque School of Performing Arts in Chichester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Born into a theatrical family, musician and vocal coach Eliza Skelton has been performing professionally from the age of six, initially with her parents\u2019 theatrical company doing two consecutive tours of \u2018The Wind in the Willows\u2019, \u2018A Christmas Carol\u2019 in Yorkshire and \u2018Babes in the Wood\u2019 at Greys Thurrock.
