With Joseph Nixon he co-wrote the hit national touring shows &#8216;Those Magnificent Men&#8217; (New Perspectives), &#8216;Big Daddy Vs. Giant Haystacks&#8217;, and &#8216;Gilbert (No Sullivan)&#8217; (currently touring). Together they were also head-writers for their sketch group <strong>The Ornate Johnsons<\/strong> (BBC4), the LWT series &#8216;Slightly Filthy&#8217;, and Radio 4\u2019s &#8216;Jo Caulfield Won&#8217;t Shut Up&#8217;.  They were chief contributors for &#8216;The Cheeky Guides&#8217; and for nine  years wrote a weekly column for Brighton&#8217;s &#8216;Latest 7&#8217; magazine. As well as having various other television and stage writing credits to his name &#8211; including, with prize-winning author <strong>Philip Reeve<\/strong>, the musical comedy &#8216;The Ministry of Biscuits&#8217; and his highly acclaimed solo play &#8216;the October Revolutions&#8217; (South East tour 2009) &#8211; he is also a classically-trained composer, having studied Music at Sussex University. His songs in 2004 for the Edinburgh Festival Perrier Nominated show, &#8216;Joanna Neary Is Not Feeling Herself&#8217;, won praise from The Times, The Guardian and The Evening Standard, and have been broadcast on Radios 1, 2 and 4. In 2016 he programmed and ran Brighton Open Air Theatre for its inaugural season and in Brighton Fringe 2017 won much praise for producing and directing a revival of W S Gilbert&#8217;s short plays &#8216;Sweethearts&#8217; and &#8216;The Hooligan&#8217; in a double bill at Lantern Theatre, Brighton. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brian is a founder member and the artistic director of multiple award-winning company The Foundry Group.
